A Hopeful Sky

This is a different kind of post.. not about books or writing or reading. But a trail of thoughts I had last night while walking home…

The best thing about working at the theatre is having this most beautiful walk home. Seeing all the colours in the sky, the sea ripple like it’s silk, overhearing a hundred different languages from the tourists, the faint squeal of a gull, lights and restaurants and beauty. And you stop for a second and take it all in, it literally feels like you can see the world as all the story ideas come rushing. And in that moment you feel so grateful. Because even though all these horrible things are happening all over the world, right now you are alive, surrounded by this beauty that no darkness can touch. This is the place I call home. Cornwall. And I am so proud to say that.
